Code Sweet Code
Hi guys, eventually I’m back coding since a few days ago. I spent several weeks trying to bring the project out of the volunteering model, but somebody failed his own due diligence. So, it happened that I wasted all this period while I could have gone on holidays getting better results, especially for my health.
Anyway, my sweet Entropy code is moving forward, I tagged Entropy 0.19.0 a few seconds ago featuring exciting things: NLnet Foundation Funding plan is on the right lane, Milestone 3 is almost done and this is the best evidence I can give
.
So, the “User Generated Content” server-side structure is in place and kicking, as well as the Equo client-side implementation of it. What does it mean? Simple answer, users will be able to add metadata to any package available in Entropy, such as: votes, comments, images, howtos, archives, YouTube videos (which will be pushed to our – actually empty – Sabayon Channel). In this way, improving satisfaction and general user experience should be automatic: Equo 0.19.x already supports it, now it’s time to give Spritz a spin and prepare Entropy 0.20.x branch. Obviously, it’s not ended here, Entropy 0.19.x introduces a lot of bug fixes (eventually – thanks for your bug submissions) and the ability to track down packages popularity by counting how many times they get downloaded, this is a good thing if you think that in this way, we are able to see what applications you like most, and focus on them.
Off the record: All in all, welcome back Fabio, we missed you.
