While the mirrors are slowly syncing cause of my fault (sigh! leechers found the files
!), I’m working on the Beryl 0.2.0 ebuilds. Niiiiiiiice, isn’t it? We decided to not include it in the 3.3 release because of the minimal testing that we would have done. Prepare to sync our overlay! layman -s sabayon && emerge beryl
It was fun testing SL 3.3 and seeing the new look. The first boot up of the alpha screen and I was like Wow! As the artwork progressed, the better it kept getting. I like the idea of doing a open RC testing where people could report back on the forum in a special forum section. Developers can get more feedback on more hardware issues and produce a better final version. I am curious to see what the hang-up will be most faced by the users. I have a feeling wireless is going to be a top issue we will see. That will just have to take some patience. The forum is a buzzing about approaching some of the ex-developers of Gentoo and seeing if they would be interested in SL. I guess lxnay, you know them better than me and would have better judgement on that.
Planet SabayonLinux is a great idea!
So, 3.3 beta testing is over and we are now working on the mirrors synchronization that might take 1-2 days cause of the size of the ISOs. Now it’s time to rant!
The first thing that comes to my mind are Luca’s bullshit about linux-wlan-ng module. I hate it! It’s horrible! Are you reading Luca? I HATE IT ! Why the hell one should issue an initialization command as root to just use a stupid wireless card? This is against our out-of-the-box policy!
But… he might be right, since 1 is better than 0, or TRUE is better than FALSE and so on… We’ll see. The thing that I am sure is that he did a time consuming yet great work on the wireless side: 3.3 will be the best wireless-aware version ever released, thanks to whom? Thanks to Luca.
The Sabayon Linux Lead Team is currently working on the integration of the Blog area with the rest of the website. Please be patient.
Hello world! In the aim of strengthening the relationship between Sabayon Linux developers and its great fans, I’ve created this funny blog, where all of us will be free to write our thoughts, rants and share happiness and sadness. Then, welcome !
